How to Improve the Life of Cemented Carbide Moulds from Designing

Mould design is an important link in the production of cemented carbide moulds. How can we provide the life of the cemented carbide mould from designing of moulds? Because improving the life of the mould can reduce purchases of the same mould by the enterprise, thereby reducing the cost of the enterprise. Let's take a look at how to improve the life of cemented carbide moulds from the aspect of mould design!

(1) The precision of the guide mechanism of the mould. Accurate and reliable guidance has a great impact on reducing the wear of the working parts of the mould and avoiding the gnawing of the convex and concave dies, especially the blanking die, compound die and multi-station progressive die without gap and small gap are more effective. In order to improve the life of the mould, it is necessary to correctly select the guiding form and determine the accuracy of the guiding mechanism according to the requirements of the process nature and the accuracy of the parts. Under normal circumstances, the precision of the guiding mechanism should be higher than the matching tip of the convex and concave moulds.

(2) The geometric parameters of the cutting edge of the cemented carbide die (convex and concave die). The shape, fit clearance and fillet radius of the convex and concave dies not only have a great influence on the forming of stamping parts, but also have a great influence on the wear and life of the die. For example, the matching clearance of the mould directly affects the quality of the blanking parts and the life of the mould. For higher precision requirements, a smaller gap value should be selected; otherwise, the gap can be appropriately increased to improve the life of the mould.
